“Lord, what joy that we may tell
other people it works. Hallelujah!”
Corrie Ten Boom
We,
here at the women’s ministry at Faith Farm, would like to be
able to keep in touch with friends, family and regular
supporters of our ministry. This is our first newsletter, and
we hope to be able to continue it on a monthly basis.
It is with great joy and glory to God that we introduce
to you our premiere graduates of 2008:
“being
confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work
in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
Philippians 1:6
Laura Hunter
Entry Date: April 30, 2007
Birthday: December 8
Favorite Scripture: Romans 7: 15-25
Before coming to Faith Farm, Laura was living in
a very unstable environment. She did not have her children with
her and was drinking daily. Laura’s drinking led to a deep
depression. In an apparent suicide attempt she ingested two
bottles of pills with a large amount of alcohol. This incident
left Laura with a gash on her head and a lot of questions on her
mind, as she had no recall of what occurred leaving her with a
scar. This was also the precipitating factor, which ultimately
led Laura to Faith Farm. She made a phone call to her mother who
gave her the
information and arrived here
April 30, 2007. Although Laura was aware of the existence of
God, and she prayed to Him, she did not have a personal
relationship with Him.
Since coming to Faith Farm, Laura has received
the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ and has dedicated her
life to Him. With the help of Jesus, Laura has dealt with a
lot of very serious life changing issues. Many of these issues
have been buried for many years. Laura has developed and
pursued a very intimate relationship with her Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ. He has brought her through everything she has had
to deal with both emotionally and spiritually. Additionally
Laura has taken the test for her GED.
Her advice
to the ladies who are still here and who are coming here is
“Don’t’ give up. Don’t get discouraged and hold on. Let God
work in you. He’s the most amazing thing that will ever happen
in your life!”

Favorite Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 13:13, Colossians 3: 12-17,
Romans 12:9-21

By all appearances, Kristie seemed to be living what might
be considered a “normal” lifestyle. She worked for a local
insurance company as a Certified Personal Service Representative
and lived at home with her parents. However, underneath it all,
she was suffering from depression as a result of a recent
emotionally traumatic event. She was also feeling overwhelmed
by her workload. She began abusing alcohol in order to cope.
During one of her drinking episodes she became incoherent and
said some hurtful things to her mother. What caught her
attention was that she had no memory of what she said or did and
was extremely remorseful. She was very close to her co-workers,
and out of concern for Kristie, they offered her the information
about Faith Farm. Initially Kristie was hesitant, but truly
wanted change in her life. Instead of running away from the
problem, she faced it the only way she knew would really work;
the help of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and Faith Farm.
Kristie attends Christ
Fellowship in Palm Beach
Gardens. She had a relationship with God prior to coming here. As a result
of her experience and studies here, she feels that she has
reached a new level in her relationship with God. She also
feels a great deal of compassion and patience since being here.
Kristie plans to return to her same company and position. With
the help of God, she hopes to advance her career.
Kristie’s advice to future graduates and newcomers is, “To put
God first. Remember He is our Comforter. He’s always there
even when you don’t think anyone else is.”

Ann
Gorrin, Director
Eastham Home for Women
e would like to tell you all a little bit about our
beloved director, Ann Gorrin. Ann met our founder, affectionately
known as “Pappy”, back in 1987 where she began attending services at
the Fort Lauderdale campus. Ann actually started working for Faith
Farm ministries back in January of 1988 when she became an Executive
Secretary for the corporate offices here at the Boynton Beach
campus. Years later Ann was asked to work with the ladies in a
counseling role where she remained for three years. She then
returned to the corporate office where she remained until 2007 at
which time she was asked to become the Director of the Women’s home.
Ann states, “There is no doubt that I have been called to this
ministry.” Ann and her husband John are both ministerial staff and
reside on the Boynton Beach campus.
Ann shares a vision for expansion of this very
anointed and very necessary ministry. There are women who would
not be alive today if not for Faith Farm and the dedication of
selfless people like Ann. Someday we are also hoping to serve
pregnant women and women with children. As “Pappy” used to always
say “Keep on keepin’ on for Jesus”. We will grow in more areas of
ministry as we become financially able.
