The program at Faith Farm is designed to separate persons from those elements in their life that have influenced them into a life of addiction. Difficulties in relationships that are destructive, lack of well established boundaries, inconsistency, and poor self-esteem are stumbling blocks for many people. They can be a death sentence to the addicted.
Faith Farm provides a free, 9 month residential program with all needs of the students met.
The “free” aspect removes the financial hardship out of the 9 month commitment.
A 9 month commitment removes the resident out of the environment and influences that may have contributed to their addiction.
During the 9 months, they are cocooned in a loving environment with a staff that has a “Heart for the Hurting” . . . Many of the staff are successful graduates of the Faith Farm program. They understand what the residents are going through because they’ve once been there themselves. They are also motivated to bring the residents into the same victorious success that they now enjoy.
Within that loving, caring atmosphere, there is also structure.
~For many, this is the first time in years that they have had an “alarm clock” start of the day with a full breakfast.
~After a short chapel service, they attend class where they are enlightened on causes of addiction, how to set boundaries in their life, respect for authority, anger management and personal integrity.
~They learn a vocation through a work project to help establish a work ethic.
~Lunch at noon and dinner at 5:00 p.m. Evenings are free for reading, GED Classes, recreation, reading/writing classes or counseling. Staff members are required to live on the Farm, so no student is without help or counseling at anytime ~ 24/7.
Upon completion of the 9 months they return to their families healed physically, psychologically and spiritually. They have several other options besides returning home.
They can choose to stay and get advanced studies for one year in the SLS (Service Leadership Student) program.
They can go to “Omega Work”, where they reside in Ft. Lauderdale for 6 months which allow them to work to accumulate enough money for apartment rent and security deposit. They receive assistance on Resume' preparation, completing employment applications, interview skills and job searches.
Finally, “Omega College” works to get scholarships at local trade schools. Students reside at the Ft. Lauderdale Faith Farm campus while attending either Omega program.
It is our mission to help men and women establish a strong, personal, spiritual foundation which allows them to rebuild their life and become a productive member of society.
